Member Get Member Scheme

"Member Get Member Scheme"

Further to my email dated 22nd March, I am delighted to report that this offer to members has exceeded all expectations. To date you have introduced 22 new full members to Tynemouth Golf Club on the Member Get Member Scheme. We thank you so much for your support.
I am pleased to announce that this offer will remain open until the end of April.

As you know, increasing the number of members is fundamental to the success of our business and in 2017 we have been joined by over 40 new members in various categories. Obviously this has introduced valuable revenue to the club.

As the new golfing season approaches, along with the greens staff, our new caterer and everyone else involved, I will now be concentrating all my efforts on improving the playing and overall experience for all the members of Tynemouth Golf Club.

I wish you the very best for the 2017 season.

The Association of James Braid Golf Courses

Our club is now a member of this Association which allows members to access many of the more than 400 James Braid designed golf courses at favourable green fees. James Braid redesigned our golf course in 1938 to the layout we have today.

There are rules provided by the Association and these must be followed.

1 Tee reservations for a two, three or four ball must be made in advance (at least 24 hours), stating you are booking under the ‘Association of James Braid Courses’ scheme

2 You will be required to provide proof of home club to Professional on your arrival – either handicap certificate or bar card which MUST show your name; a logo on your sweater is NOT acceptable.

3 Bookings will only be accepted based on Club’s tee availability and cannot be accepted with any other offer

4 The green fee being charged is shown in the attachment; green fees valid for both ladies and gentlemen

5 These rates are for members of member clubs only and NOT for a group/society. [There have been reports of groups trying to work the system by booking one four ball in one name, then another in another and then another; this is abusing the idea of the Association and will result in clubs refusing your booking/s. Please do not do this]

6 Certain clubs will accept bookings for away day/touring groups and these are signified by G followed by a number signifying the maximum number in a group at the green fee rates shown below. A full list of all participating clubs in this part of the scheme is shown in the attachment. Groups must be booked well in advance and all members must be members of an Association member club; other members of the group must pay the full green fee. The group organiser will be expected to provide proof of membership of member clubs.

The master list of clubs can also be found at . This list is kept up to date with any changes during the year. There is also a map and an app which can be found on

James Braid was involved in the design, either originally or the re-design, of more than 400 courses. A book published last year, ‘James Braid and his Four Hundred Golf Courses’ is available from either
